The dance floor provided will be circular and in open. It is one of the most fun events in Antaragni. Street dance in Antaragni so far has seen a lot of talent coming from various colleges.Various new styles, some of them pretty weird were seen last time. However, everyone still loved the event, and that is why it's happening again at a even bigger level.

Some History

Street dance,is used to describe dance styles that evolved outside of dance studios in places such as streets, school yards and nightclubs. It all perhaps started when one day some people brought out their radios onto the street. To hold your own in a competitive street dance, you must be confident to start dancing on the street. It involves a large amount of improvisation, and is rather difficult as it encourages interaction and contact with the spectators and the other dancers.

Street dance is also commonly used specifically for the many hip hops and funk dance styles. Generally, a street dance is usually tied to a certain music genre. As new dance moves evolve based on this, the dance is constantly evolving, and that is where the difficulty lies for a performer: to stick to a underlying theme, while constantly improvising during the performance.

The main advantage with Street Dance is that it is usually freestyle. Some of the best dancers also interact with the crowd or whomever they are dancing against.

Rules and Guidelines

1. Team size: there should be a minimum of 5 people in the team and a max of 12
2. During the performance, number of performers on stage at a time, should be atleast 5 and maximum 10.
3. The performance should vary from a minimum of 4 min to 7 minutes.
4. Teams can dance to recorded music in any language, however, live music isn't allowed.
5. Props are allowed during the performance
6. As usual, the judges decision will be final in case of any dispute.
7. The stage will be in the open, after all it is a street dance, probably circular in shape.

A useful tip: Wear comfortable clothes, when participating in the event. Also, shoes will be a better choice than sandals, etc., since then you can jump around and do some fancy footwork easily. The good thing about this event is that it is impromptu. You can improvise on the spot, so you don't require special preparation. Just get on the dance floor, and try out various moves.

Also, it would boost your chances of winning a lot if you are able to involve and impress the crowd,
