Till last year the western freestyle solo dance used to be a part of Jitterbug but owing to its growing popularity it deserves an individual identity hence came the competition called Jive. The competition in the past has seen more than 100 participants every year. This year with increased prize money we expect the participation to go up.
Jive always you to improvise and mix several dance forms and come up with your own style. Mix Salsa with Kathak or hip-hop or rock no roll. Come up with a style that totally personifies you.
Jive has two purposes:
- To check how well can you as a single artist hold the audience and make the sway with you moves.
- The second round of the finals would
check your energy levels, improvisation by pitting you against an

The finale would be held in the Main Auditorium in front of a 1500 strong audience. Lets see if you can move them to your beats. The Judging criteria would be same as those in Jitterbug.
