Sur - Indian Classical Music

Solo Vocal Competition


Criterion - Only pure Indian Classical, Hindustani or Carnatic Music is allowed. Ghazals or classical based/ semi-classical songs are not allowed.

Time Limit - 12 (10+2) mins.

Judgment - Solely on the vocal capabilities of the performer. Hindustani and Carnatic Music will be judged separately.

Accompaniments - with respect to both Taal and Sur are compulsory otherwise points may be deducted. Tabla and Harmonium will be provided.

General Rules/Info - Only one piece is allowed.

Maximum Participation - 3 from a single college/institute.


Solo Instrumental Competition


Criterion - Only pure Indian Classical, Hindustani or Carnatic Music is allowed. Ghazals or classical based/ semi-classical songs are not allowed.

Time Limit - 15 (13+2) mins.

Judgment - Solely on the capabilities of the individual (lead) performer. Hindustani and Carnatic Music will be judged separately.

Accompaniments - Lehra for percussion instruments and Taal for non-percussion instruments are compulsory otherwise points may be deducted. Tabla and Harmonium will be provided.

General Rules/Info - More than one piece is allowed within given time constraint.

Maximum Participation - Any no. from a single college/institute.
