GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. Followings are the items/services which will be provided by us:-
   • A computer/laptop for background music. Please bring the music in CDs in MP3 format & not in audio cassettes.You can also perform live music but the necessary instruments must be arranged by the team.
   • A set of specified props will be available to the team.
   • Lighting facility is available for the team. Team should bring people to manage light and sound.
2. Nothing will be provided for prior practice.
3. Anything apart from above mentioned must be arranged by the team itself.
4. Use of vulgar language is prohibited. Points may be deducted for the same based on judge's discretion. Use ofexpletives may be allowed with prior clarification with Coordinators.
5. In case of any discrepancies final say is that of judges and judges only.
   

1. Darpan- The Play Competition

Rules & Regulations

1. Registered teams have to submit a hardcopy of script of the play on the dramatics registrations desk latest by 2359 Hrson 23rd October, 2008.
2. Play could be English, Hindi or Bi-lingual.
3. No restriction on the number of member in a team.
   

Elimination Round

1. In preliminary round you will have to stage a small part of your play.
2. The time limit for the preliminary round is maximum 10 minutes from empty to empty stage.
3. Teams will be judged on the basis of script, stage usage and acting skills only.
4. 8 teams will qualify for the final round.
   

Final Round

1. Qualified teams will stage their play in the final round.
2. A slot will be specified for technical run only for the finalists just before the finals.
3. No time limit for play.
   

2. Nukkad- The Street Play Competition

Rules and Regulation

1. Maximum 15+2 members in one team including anyone playing dholak, etc.
2. Other than this: Sab Chalta Hai!!!
   

Elimination Round

1. Time limit: 10 min.
2. On the basis of the performance in first round, 8-9 teams will be selected for the final round.

Final round

1. Time limit for the final round is 30 min.

3. Abhivyakti- The Mime Competition

Rules & Regulations

1. Registration can be done on the dramatics registration desk latest by 11.59pm on 23rd October.
2. There is no restriction on the number of team members.
3. Use of unnecessary props is discouraged. Face painting & costume will not be considered as props.
4. Background music, such as music typically used in mimes is allowed, however it must not contain any words.
   

Note: Abhivyakti- The Mime Competition consists of two back to back rounds.

First Round

1. In the first round, team could use any sort of sounds or words which are not recognized by the lexis of any spoken language. Any word or sound directly related to a particular thing, animal, emotion will be considered as invalid (likebarking has direct association with a dog's call).
2. Time limit: 6 min.
   

Second Round

1. In second round which immediately follows the first round, team could use at most 5 words recognized by the dictionary in their performance. No sixth word or identifiable sound should be produced.
2. Time limit for second round is 4min.
3. The two rounds need not be linked, in theme or story.
   

4. The Parody Making Competition
Can you forget Gabbar Singh of Sholay? We bet you can't. It's not only because he acted very well it's also because aeveryone since/then tries to produce Gabbar in his own style.
Here we provide the chance to let your Gabbar mess up with Terminator or what if he kidnaps Rohit of 'Koi Mil Gaya'!!
Parody making is all about that, plotting movies in your frame input all your imaginations in movies.
You may not be a movie freak but for this you must know how to make a comic scene out of the deadliest emotion flicks.Do you find it touching when SRK died in 'Kal ho na ho' ? The audience must find it a "Oh! I can't stop it." kind of laughterwhen you tell them how Shehjada Saleem was involved in it.

Rules and Regulation:

1. Registration can be done on the Dramatics desk latest by 10.00pm on 24th October.
2. Registered participants will draw 3 sets of movies on lottery, out of which they have to choose 1 set of movies.
3. Each set will have 3 movies, & the team has to make a parody using all the 3 movies.
4. Team size should 6(Minimum)-10(Maximum).
5. Time limit: Maximum 15 min (empty stage to empty stage).
   

5. The Help Soap Opera Contest
The everlasting, ever growing 'K' world in Ekta Kapoor production is filled with so called action, thrill & all sorts of logical & illogical twist. Our Producer inspired by Ms Ekta kapoor launched his very own family opera. But alas! She has run out oftwists and turns for the story. She needs your help as her TV series is being aired and she doesn't have even the story forthe next episode! You have to save the 'K' world, but the clock is ticking a bit fast so you have to act faster.

A night before the event, recap of the family soap opera would be provided and team has to prepare a plot for next episode.

Desperate Director
Our producer has also concern for falling TRP!! So She has decided to add some masala by introducing a Mahabharat character in the serial. Put all of your couch potato hours into thinking up a story and showcase your imagination.

Rules and Regulation

1. Registration will be on the Dramatics desk latest by 5:00pm on 24th October.
2. Maximum of 8 members in one team.
3. At maximum, 15 min will be provided to each team from empty stage to empty stage.
4. Costumes will not be provided but the participants are expected to have an idea of Ekta's serials so they should bring the costumes accordingly.
5. Teams will be provided with objects like steel plate (thali) etc which team may use to give sound effects in their performance. Team can bring a CD containing in which all tracks are recorded in mp3 format for giving sound effect.
